“Fairy Gardens” with Karen Hall from Johnson’s Garden Center will show how to build and maintain these small gardens.

Volunteer Botanica

Botanica has a wonderful group of volunteers, but there's always room for more. Join us March 3, 2012 to learn about the different volunteer positions Botanica has available. Hands dirty or clean, Botanica has a place for you! Whether it's Education in the Downing Children's Garden, Special Events or Butterfly House hosts, gardeners or Administrative, Botanica has positions are available indoors and out.

Join us sometime between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a free garden tour, explore garden booths and win excellent door prizes.

Our History Alive: The Cherokee Strip Land Rush of 1893

Join Heather Ferguson in a discussion about the Cherokee Strip Land Rush of 1893. The "Run" was the largest race ever. Over 110,000 people raced for a piece of the 7 million acres. Cost is $12. Reservations required by 3/12. Call Kathy Scott at 264-0448 ext. 107 for reservations.

More than 90 varieties are artfully arranged in flower beds throughout the Gardens- a diversification that results in a beautiful spring show. This cross-section gives you the opportunity to see new and unique bulb colors to enjoy or to use as inspiration for your home landscape.

Birding at Botanica

Bring your binoculars and tour the grounds with birdwatchers Pat and Roy Beckemeyer to encounter and learn about the birds that call the Gardens home during the winter. This one-hour guided walk is for birders of all ages and skill levels. Included with admission or membership.
