Shakespearean Garden

The Shakespearean Garden at Botanica is a beautiful blend of the formal and cottage gardens characteristic of the Elizabethan era. Visitors standing on the upper level of this garden can appreciate the geometric balance of the symmetrical pathways, which lead through the variety of perennial herbs and flowers. Many of the featured plants are mentioned in Shakespeare’s works or were popular in the genteel gardens of his lifetime. A new limestone fountain, symbolic of the Garden’s water source, was installed in 2009. Combined with the teak benches and the Hawthorn trees, this area creates a respite for all who visit Botanica.
